Joseph, Great Isl. witn. 1674-6, Constable, Newich, 4 July 1676; sued by Jona. Nason in Apr. 1678. In 1680, Nonesuch Point, Falm., 100 a. each was gr. to Capt. Sylvanus Davis, Mr. Inglis and J.H. Deputy from Casco 1681. Gr.j. 1681. Returning to the home of his w. Tabitha Raynes (Francis), he liv. at head of Braveboat Harbor, York; with her sold out at Falm. in Apr, 1686 and June 1687. York gr. with John More 21 May 1688. Tr.j. 1689. In 1690 he had bot a shallop with br. John who was adm. 9 June 1691. Tabitha not in her fa.' will 21 Aug. 1693, giving Joseph's ch. 10 s. each and naming two: Francis, Elizabeth. Other children: Mary, Nathaniel, Poss. Patience. [ref 22]

JOSEPH Hodsdon2, b. in Kittery, Me., 1656; m. Tabitha, dau. of Francis and Elinor Raynes of York, Me. He was granted twenty acres of land at Nonesuch Point, in Falmouth, (now Portland) Mar. 16, 1681-2. About 1687, he sold land in Falmouth and settled in York, where he d. in 1691. The inventory of his estate was filed June 9, 1691, by his brother, John Hodsdon. Francis Raynes by his will dated July 28, 1698, gave Francis and Elizabeth Hodsdon, children of the late Joseph Hodsdon, certain legacies. Children: Francis, Elizabeth. [ref 32:20]
