Will 28 Dec. 1724 - 7 Apr. 1725, names w. Elizabeth, 2 sons, 6 dau. and s. James' ch.; inv. 24 Mar. 1725. Wid. liv. 5 Sep. 1730*, but app. dead in Mar. 1727-8*. Ch. by 1st w: Margaret, James, Lydia, Frances, Rebecca, Samuel, Elizabeth, Thomas, Lucretia. In his will made 28 Dec. 1724, he mentions wife, Elizabeth. She married Thomas Abbot about 1726. Children 1686-1709: Margaret, James, Frances, Rebecca, Samuel, Elizabeth, Thomas, Lucretia. He made his will Dec. 28, 1724. In his will he mentions his wife Elizabeth, who was probably his second wife. [ref 48:312] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - WILL OF JAMES EMERY 28 Dec 1724 - 7 Apr 1725: In the Name of God Amen The Twenty Eighth day of December one Thousand Seven Hundred & twenty four I Iames Emery of Berwick in ye County of York and within his Majts Province of the Massachusets Bay in New England Husbandman, being Very Sick & weak in body but of perfect mind & memory Thanks be given unto God, therefore Calling unto mind ye Mortality of my body & knowing it is appointed for all men once to die doe make & ordain this my Last will And Testament, that is to Say, principally & first of all I give & Recommend my Soul Into ye hands of God yt gave it, & my body I recommend to ye Earth, to be buried In decent Christian burial at ye discretion of my Executor & Executrix, Nothing doubting but at ye general resurrection I Shall Receive the Same again by ye Mighty power of God; And as touching Such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give demise & dispose of ye Same in ye following Manner & Form.
