[ref 22] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Hercules Fernald b. about 1680; married Sarah, dau. of Hon. John and Elizabeth (Fryer) Hinckes of Newcastle. He was a shipwright. He died before 1731, and his widow was living in 1746. Children: John, Jane, Sarah. [ref 33:378] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Hercules; m. after 1714, when she claimed, possibly innocently but without success, to be the lawful wife of Capt. Temple, an Englishman, Sarah Hinckes, daughter of the Cheif Justice of the New Hampshire Superior Court. He probably died about 1725, but she was living, his widow, in 1746.
