He was in Dover in 1643, and the same yr. bot from Edw. Colcord land formerly Wid. Messant's. Rem. to Maine by 1647. Trial j. 1647, gr.j. 1646-7, 1657, coroner's j. 1647, const. Kit. 1653-55. Until his house burned he liv. on the 20 a. in Crooked Lane gr. him in June 1654; aft. in Portsm. where liv. Mar. 1659-60, brought there by Geo. Walton who gave bond to secure the town. He became indebted to Mr. John Cutt aft. the fire and the Kit. prop. was finally sold to him. Adm. 1 July 1662 to wid. Elizabeth (Wheeler, dau. of John of Newb.), who m. 2d 9 June 1663 Matthias Button of Haverh., d. there 16 July 1690. Ch: Thomas, Elizabeth. W. on Walnut tree and Hawk's meadow. Dec. 7, 1673 (Norfolk deeds 3:107).
