WILL of JONATHAN WHEELER, 12 Aug 1720 - 31 Oct 1720:

In the Name of God Amen I Jonathan Wheeler Senr. of Byfield in ye County of Essex in ye Province of ye Massachusetts being Sick in body but of perfect mind & Memory thanks bee unto God therefore not knowing how it may please God to dispose of mee do make this my Last Will & testament first I comitt my Soule into ye hands of Allmighty God who gave it & my body to ye Earth from whence it was taken to be decently Intered there in at ye Discretion of my Execut heare after Named hoping of a Joyfull resurection from thence thro ye Merrit of Jesus Christ my only Saviour & redemer & as for Such temporall Estate as it pleased God to bless mee with after all my Just & honest Debts are payd I Give & bequeath in Maner & forme following

Imprimis I Give & Bequeath unto my Deare & Loving wife Mary ye one third of ye Improvment & Income of my whole Estate during her widdowhood giving her Liberty to Sell that Living I bought of Sqawford for payment of my debts & at her decease to dispose of ye then remaining part of my moveable Estate at her discretion. Amongst our children but if providence should So order it that Shee maryes Again shee shall have fifty pounds & relinquish all further demands of my Estate & and it So hapens that shee bee reduced to widdowhood againe my Will is that she returne to Injoy her one third part of ye Income of my Estate as before any Such Mariage.

Item Whereas I have by Deeds Given unto my two Sons Jonathan Weeller & James Wheeller to Each of them a Living where upon they gave mee a quitt claime from any further demands of my Estate dated ye 4th of Febry. 1714 under their hands & Seals which I judge a Suficient portion & therefore shall not Add farther

Item I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah Braadstreet ye wife of Jonathan Braadstreet Tenn pounds having given her allready fourty pounds.

Item I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Hopkison ye wife of Jno Hopkison & to ye heirs of her body to bee reserved for their use in ye hands of Some faithfull freind ye Sum of Tenn pounds having Given her fourty pounds allready

Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Mehitable Wheeler The Sum of Fifty pounds shee having not recevd. any part of her portion & in Consideration of her faithfull Service Since shee was of Age I give her twenty pounds Thirty pounds of wch Sums shall be payd at he time of her Mariage ye remainder of Ye Sums to her & my other Daughters for ye time of payment I leave to ye Discretion of my Executor hereafter named & in Case of her decease before Such payments are made my Will is that ye remaining parts thereof bee payd in Seaven Years after my Decease

Item I Give unto my two Sons Jno Wheeller & Moses Wheeller all ye rest of my Estate to them & their Heires for Ever Viz houses Lands Meadows Swamps Marishes Comages rights privledes of Lands & Mills whatsoever & whearsoever Lying & beeing Scituate in Byfeild or Elsewheare

And I appoint & Constitute my Dear & Loving wife Mary ye Sole Executor of this my Last will & Testament hearby revoking all other & former & this only to bee my Last Will & Testament in Wittness Wherof I have hear unto Set my hand & Seale ye 12 day of August Anno Dom: 1720
