| - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - children Prince, John, Patience, Benjamin, Nymphas, Lydia, John after 1716 moved from Taunton to Barnstable where he operated a grist mill and later a wool carding mill (later known as Marstons Mills) Marstons Mills, now part of Barnstable, was first settled by whites in 1653 who were attracted to the water power of the Herring River. In 1689, this became one of America's first fulling mills, processing raw wool into cloth. Marstons Mills is named after Ben Marston who, in 1738, took over the first fulling mill in America from Thomas Macy, the man who built it. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - | ||||||||||
