Elder Edward Starbuck, had John, Peter, Joseph, Abigail, ano. John, Ebenezer. [ref 20]

VARNEY, Humphrey, Dover 1659, s. of Wm. and Bridget of Gloucester, ment. in her will 1671. Prob. a Quaker, as many of his desc., he pleaded non-conviction to charge of abs. from meeting 1663. He m. 2 Mar. 1664 Sarah (Starbuck) Austin. The recorder called her Sarah 'Storer,' doubtless having in mind the wid. Sarah Storer of Dover who had m. Samuel Austin in 1661. Note birth of s. John in Nantucket 1664. His fa.-in-law Edward Starbuck confirmed to him 11 May 1664 20 a. formerly given to s.-in-law Joseph Austin. His will, 17 Sept. 1713 - 2 June 1714, aged, ment. w. Sarah, dau. Abigail Brackston, sons Ebenezer, Peter (all lands). Ch: John, Peter, Joseph, Abigail, John; Dover gr. 1702 laid out 1721 to neph. John; m. Susanna (Hussey) Otis. His will, 21 Feb. 1713 - 22 Mar. 1715-6, ment. bros. Peter and Ebenezer, neph. John (Ebenezer), sis. Abigail Blackstone and his w.'s ch. Nicholas, Rebecca, Stephen and Rose Otis; br. Ebenezer exec., Tobias and John Hanson his bondsm. [ref 22]
