HANCE, John, carpenter, Dover witn. with James Kidd and Timo. Waldron, 1657. Taxed 1657, next to Thos. Hanson; accepted inhab. 6 July 1659; bot from Geo. Walton 1665. With Tobias Hanson he subscr. for the purch. of land in Monmouth Co., N.J., and was at Portland Point in that Co. 1669-70; by 1672 at Shrewsbury, where he d. Dep., J.P. He m. Elizabeth Hanson whose neph. Tobias Hanson gave P/A to uncle John Hance of Shrews. 4 Feb. 1698-9. Will 24 Mar. 1707-8 - 27 Jan. 1710-1 beq. to w. Elizabeth, 2 sons, 4 of 5 daus., and ment. Saml.
