| - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - James, a minor in 1676, willed a silver beaker by his gr.mo. (Hilton), to be given him when of age. A mariner, m. Mary Watts, and liv. in Boston. In 1698 master of the 'Mayflower,' Jamaica to Providence or Boston. In 1716 one Thomas Smith depos that �1696 Florence McCarthy and J.T. borrowed �200, John Gerrish endorsing for J.T. who d. by 1699; the creditor claimed that Gerrish ought to pay, being T.'s br. and atty. Kn. ch. bap. in Boston 1697-98: Samuel, Samuel. Cousin Mary T. named in will of Mrs. Lake in July 1705 was prob. Mary (Watts) T. and not a young dau. In Boston one Mary Treworgye and George Jones, belonging to the Reserve, pub. int. in 1709, the same or ano. Mary m. Samuel Kill in 1712. [ref 22] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - James Treworgy. He was mentioned in the will of his grandmother, Catherine (Shapleigh) (Treworgy) Hilton in 1676, receiving a silver beaker. He was a tanner, employed by Mr. Pepperell in 1696, and of Portsmouth in 1701. His second wife, Ruth*, daughter of Henry and Ruth (Stanfield) Kirke, was his widow in 1734. Children by first marriage 1694-96: Penelope, John; child by second marriage 1698: Samuel; child by third marriage 1714: James.
