He lived all life in Arundel, and appears to have been a prominent citizen. His name appears several times as selectman. In 1773 he was delegate to the County Congress at York to consider what means should be taken for the welfare and peace of the country. Children by Eunice: Priscilla, Caleb, Ann, Ruth, Asa, Asa, William. Children by Esther: Joseph, David, Caleb, Joshua, John. Children by Hannah: Ebenezer, Moses. In 1821 the name "Arundel" was changed to "Kennebunkport", so he lived for two or three years in the latter town without changing his place of abode.
