- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - LEVI STONE LIBBY, born in Berwick, Me., 21 Aug. 1789; married, 22 May 1814, LYDIA H. CHICK, daughter of Peter and Abigail (Haskell) Chick of Limington. He learned the blacksmith's trade in Portsmouth, N. H., and afterward worked for one Mayall in Gray, in a carding and fulling mill. Three years later he went into that business himself in Limington, and continued it until 1820, when he settled on a farm in Cornish. From 1844 until 1853, he lived in Hiram, and lived in Standish from that time until his death, 26 April 1867. His widow died in Cornish, 4 Aug. 1870.
