He was a tailor by trade, and carried on his business successively in Camden, Stillwater, Skowhegan, Rockland, and Nobleborough, and thence removed to Olympia, Thurston, Washington Territory. He there took up land and cleared a farm. He also engaged in trade and held the office of postmaster. He died 20 April 1870, leaving sons Joseph B. and George B., and perhaps other children.
