Barter, Henry, Bradbury in 1837 was told that he was Welsh and came over in same vessel with the first Pepperell. Selectm. 1709. Gr.j. 1711. Deacon 1720. He m. Sarah Crockett, 2d 1730, Jane (Jackson) Frink. His will Oct 1746 - May 1747 names all 7 ch: Elizabeth, Sarah, Eleanor, Henry, Richard, William, Martha. [ref 22]

Henry Barter, a Welshman, is said to have come over in the same vessel with William Pepperrell, about 1675. He married Sarah, dau. of Ephraim Crocket and lived at the east end of Crocket's Neck. Henry Barter, who married [Thomas] Crockett's granddaughter, had a portion of the Neck and added thereto in 1697, by buying twenty-seven acres or more of Thomas Hooper of York. Henry died in 1747 and named wife, Jean, in his will. Children 1693-aft 1703: Sarah, Eleanor, Henry, Richard, William, Elizabeth, Martha. [ref 33:62,283]
