Adjacent to him were Joseph Houlton, Jr., John Houlton and Joseph Houlton, Sr. Across the road was the Meeting-House, the parsonage of Reverend Samuel Parris and the tavern of his uncle, Nathaniel Ingersoll. It was at this tavern the first hearings of the witchcraft trials were held.
