H., between 1755 and 1759. She married first, in Haverhill, 20 Apr. 1738, David Whittaker, born there, 12 Apr. 1712, died there, 24 Apr. 1752, in his forty-first year, son of William and Mehetabel (Harriman) Whittaker. She married secondly, in Haverhill, 16 Oct. 1755, Robert Calef of Chester, N. H. Administration on the estate of David Whittaker, late of Haverhill, deceased, intestate, was granted to his widow Ann Whittaker, 8 June 1752. She gave bond with [ref 88:174] Cornelius Johnson, yeoman, and Samuel Shepard, Innholder, as her sureties. She took oath to the inventory, 24 Aug. 1752, and her signature on the paper is an unusual one for a woman, in those days. Ann filed her first account, 28 May 1753 and her second, 30 June 1755 (Essex co probate 29544). As the administratrix of David Whittaker she sold several pieces of land in Haverhill. Children, born in Haverhill, Mass. 1740-42: Anna, Solomon. [ref 88:175] Anne Whittaker of Haverhill, conveys, to Thomas Whittaker of the same place, land in Plaistow, N. H. in 1754. Witnessed by Joseph Clements, Samuel Shepard. At the July Court 1759, Samuel Shepard swore that he saw Ann Whittaker, since deceased, sign the deed and that Joseph Clements, also since deceased, and himself signed too, as witnesses.
