| - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - son of Abraham MERRILL and Mehitable STEVENS - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - DAVID5 MERRILL (Abraham4, Jonathan3, Abraham2) was born 4 Nov. 1752, in Derryfield (now Manchester), N.H., and died in December, 1831. He served in the Revolutionary army, 1777-79, and became a lieutenant. He lived early in life in Derryfield and Fisherfield (now Newbury) N. H. In March, 1800, with his wife and twelve children he started for Canada, his wife on horseback and the children on an ox wagon. They spent nearly four weeks in getting to Newport, Vt. There they boarded a scow, and were taken down Lake Memphremagog, making their home on the eastern shore, three miles below Georgeville, Quebec. In 1803 they removed to Stanstead, Quebec. The children all grew up, and had large families in that section. David5 Merrill married Polly. Children 1782-bef 1800: Benjamin Polly, Israel, David, Stephen, Nancy + 6 more.
