Moses, born March 26, 1713, married "Phoeby Wellsen" October 22, 1734. Five of their eight children died young. "Dea. Moses, the husband, died 1788." [ref 91:33]

MOSES5 CLEMENTS (Samuel4, John3, Robert2, Robert1), born in Haverhill, Mass., 26 Mar. 1713, died there, in October, 1788. He married in Haverhill, 22 Oct. 1734, Phebe Wilson, born in Bradford, Mass., 24 Mar. 1716, died after 1784, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Richardson) Wilson. Moses Clements, like his father and brothers, followed the cooper's trade. He served in the French War. Moses was interested in town and parish affairs and was Deacon in the Haverhill church. He served as a member of the First company of Haverhill, under Lieut. Benjamin Gale, Lieut. Col. John Osgood. He was on the Alarm list, 18 Apr. 1757. In 1761, he was master of the Ezra Cottell* of Haverhill and also in the same year, master of the James Rix* of Haverhill. Children, born in Haverhill, Mass. 1735-58: Mary, Joseph, Moses, Moses, Amos, Sarah, Edward, Susannah, Amos. [ref 88:156]
*these boats were probably used in transporting men or supplies to Canada

Moses Clements of Haverhill, cooper, conveys, to Samuel Brown of Plaistow, land in Plaistow, 16 Apr. 1759 (Province NH deeds 76:95). [ref 88:157]

Moses Clements of Haverhill, for seven years work done for him, since son Moses was 21, conveys to son Moses Clements, Jr., one-half the island in the Merrimac, 5 Mar. 1775. [ref 88:157]

*Haverhill Jenvary 24th 1742-3 I the Subscriber Receved of the widow Mary willson ten Poond nine Shillings and Six Pence in full for the funerrill Chargis for Her husband as witness my hand: (Essex co probate 30152). [ref 88:157]

To Phebe my Dear & well beloved wife, I give the use ... of the one half Part of my now Dwelling house at the Easterly End Except the Chamber over the foreroom...

To my son Moses Clement I give ... the one half of my Homestead with Half the Buildings thereon except what I have Disposed of to your mother and Sisters and when they have done with it to him and Hairs and assigns for Ever....

To my son Amos Clement ... I give one half of my homestead...." etc. "To my two Dafters Sarah Clements & Susannah Clements ... two thirds of my household furniture....

The residue was given to sons Amos and Moses and they were to be executors. Dated, 10 Feb. 1784; proved, 6 Oct. 1788. (Essex co probate 5601.)
