Dr. Stephen Huse, born in Newbury, Mass., 16 Nov. 1702, died in Methuen, 1 July 1785*, aged eighty-one years, son of Abel and Judith (___) Huse; married 2 Jan. 1734-5, Susannah Clements. Susannah was the second wife of Dr. Huse. He married first, in Newbury, 30 July 1729, Mrs. Judith (Greenleaf) (Knight) Emery. Dr. Stephen Huse lived for some years after his first marriage in Methuen, at least his first two children are recorded there. He had a very large practice in the surrounding towns. In 1757, Dr. Stephen and his son, Dr. John Huse, were on the Alarm list of the militia Company of Haverhill. Stephen Huse was evidently a man in whom people trusted, for he took inventories, went on bonds, witnessed deeds, etc., his name appearing frequently in the old records during his long life. Children, the first two born in Methuen, the rest in Haverhill, Mass. 1735-59: Susanna, Eleanor, John, Miriam, Stephen, Miriam, Stephen, Ruth, Hannah, Hannah, Nathaniel. [ref 88:159]
