Joseph, son of Jacob Barney and Ann Witt; born March 9, 1672-3; lived in Swansea; married Constance Davis of Haverhill Sept. 4, 1692; died at Rehoboth Feb. 4, 1730-1. Joseph's father was a Baptist minister who founded churches in Charlestown and Swansea and founder of the First Baptist Society in Boston. [ref 27:1-283]
