He was one of the founders of the New North Church, Boston, 1712; rem. to Hv. ab. 1722 or later; adm. 1 Hv. chh. July 2, 1738, by dism. from some other chh. Son James ap. adm. est. Jan. 10, 1757; wid. Hannah ment. John was prominent among the original proprietors of Pennacook [Concord], N. H.; but he could not have lived there any length of time, though he was on committees and surveyor there 1727-'30, and had a "house built and inhabited" there in 1731.
