Joseph Mitchell, of New Shoreham and Kingstown, R.I., b. about 1690; married at New Shoreham, 27 Nov. 1720, Elizabeth Lame. In Jan. or Feb. 1726/7 Thomas Mitchell of New Shoreham conveyed land in North Kingstown to his son Joseph Mitchell of North Kingstown (North Kingstown 5B:106). On 18 Feb. 1742/3 Joseph Mitchell of New Shoreham, "son of Thomas," is mentioned in the New Shoreham Records (3:107). Child 1732: Margaret, perhaps other children. [ref 89:1-710]
