[ref 30:41] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Richard Wright death 9 Jun 1691 83y Plympton, Plymouth /father of Adam, Esther, John, Mary, Isaac [ref 76] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Richard Wright of Plymouth married, about 1644, Hester2 Cooke, daughter of Francis Cooke the Mayflower Passenger and they had six children: Adam, John, Esther, Isaac, Samuel, Mary, John. Richard Wright died at Plymouth, 9 June, 1691. [ref 93:24-83] 11 Mar 1663/4 This Court takeing notice of such evidence as hath bin produced for the clearing of a Controversy between John Tompson plaintiffe and Richard Wright; in reference to a prcell of land att Namassakett Doe allow an agreement between the said prties which was ordered heer to bee entered as followeth, viz: That the said prties shall have equall share of the land allowed to ffrancis Cooke att Namaskett aforsaid provided that they bee equall in bearing the Charge about the said land (Col. court IV:60). [ref 93:3-102] On 21/31 May, 1688, by a deed which was not recorded until 15/25 Feb'y, 1734/5, Richard Wright sold to Caleb Cooke (Jacob, Francis) all his interest in land at Rocky Nook: Which sd Land is a compleat fifth Part of a whole Lot & Share of Land both Upland Meadow sometimes ye Estate of Francis Cooke of Plymouth abovesd, & agreeable to the Will of sd Francis Cooke was by mutual Consent of all his Children divided amongst them (Plym. co deeds XXIX:131). [ref 93:3-105] Richard Wright died at Plymouth, 9 June, 1691. His wife was Hester2 Cooke (Francis). [ref 93:4-165] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 1643 listed as able to bear arms, meaning he was between 16 and 60; 1644 elected first deputy from Rehoboth to the Plymouth Court but refused to serve William and Priscilla (Carpenter) Wright cannot be parents of Richard; they were married 1627 and Richard was born before that year (over 16 in 1643) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - (Plymouth probate I:101-103) WILL of RICHARD WRIGHT 8 Jun 1691 - 24 Jun 1691 (inv.): I Richard Wright of ye Town of Plimouth in ye County and Colony of New Plimouth in New England being at Present of Sound and disposing mind and memory under bodily weaknesses not knowing when the hour of my death shall Come do make this my last Will and Testament in maner and forme following hereby Revoaking all former Wils First I comitt my soul to God that made it Resting on ye onely merrits of Christ my Redeemer for Eternall Salvation and my body to ye earth to be buried in a decent maner. My worldly Estate that God hath lent me I thus dispose: my will is that all my Estate Real and Personall House lands money or any moveables & Chattels in what kind soever be equally and faithfully divided betwixt my three Children Adam Esther and Mary Also my Will is that my daughter Mary have her living in my house During her Widowhoode and in as much as my son Adam hath heretofore had a full double portion in lands my will & desire is that my sd Son deal kindly in Carefull providing what in him lies for my daughter Mary price Also I Make my son and two daughters Executors of this my last Will & Testament Also I do hereby appoint & desire my loving friends John Nelson & Isaac Cushman to be Overseers of this my Will and I Intreate their care to se it faithfull prformed in a just distribution of my estate to my Children as is above Expressed In Attestation yt this is my last Will and Testament I Set to my hand & seal This Eighth day of june 1691 I desire also & Impower John Sturtevant to be on of ye overseers of this my will. Leydon, Holland, d. prob. before 7 Dec. 1675 (not ment. in will of son John) (poss. after 21 May 1669 if she acknowledged a 9 May deed from her hus. to son); m. 21 Nov. 1644, Plymouth, Richard Wright, b. c1608, d. 9 June 1691, age about 83, Plymouth. 6 Wright children: Adam, John, Esther, Isaac, Samuel, Mary.
