| - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - son of Joseph BARTLETT and Hannah POPE - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Robert Bartlett4 (Joseph, Mary Warren, Richard), of Plymouth, married, first, on 28 December, 1687, his cousin, Sarah Bartlett, of Duxbury, who died 20 February, 1687/8, two months after her marriage, leaving no issue. He married, second, on 1 April, 1691, Sarah3 Cooke (Jacob, Francis), of Plymouth. Robert and Sarah (Cooke) Bartlett had twelve children, all recorded at Plymouth. These children were: Hannah, Thomas, John, unnamed son, Sarah, James, Joseph, Elizabeth, William, Ebenezer, Robert, Lemuel. Robert Bartlett4 died 3 January, 1718, in his 55th year, according to his gravestone on Burial Hill, Plymouth. The year of this record must be in new style dating, as the appraisers of his estate were appointed on 6 Feb, 1717/18, and the inventory was taken on 11 February, 1717/18. His widow, Sarah (Cooke) died 8 February, 1744/5, in her 74th year, according to the record on her gravestone on Burial Hill. Her death was also entered on the Plymouth town records. [ref 93:20-117] On 6 February, 1717/18, "Capt Benjamin Warren Abiel Shirtleife & Francis Adams all of Plimouth" were appointed to appraise the estate of "Robert Bartlet late of Plimouth aforesd deceased" The inventory was taken 11 February, 1717/18 by Benjamin Warren, Abiel Shurtlef, and Francis Adams, and swoarn to, by them, on 3 May, 1718. The real estate was as follows: "Land lieing att monument Ponds in Plymouth:, �355; "Eighty acres where the house is att Double brookes" �260; "land lieing above sd Eighty acres of about 165 acres att fullers valey" �165; "one acre of Meadow and one of Swamp South side Ele River" �38; "land and Meadow on the North Side of Ele River" �100; "land by Ele rever bridg" V4; "wood land near Obery" �63; "the homestead and housen thereon" �255; "apoint of Beach the North side of wellingsly" �4; "the house and land att town with all the meteriels already provided for finishing the Same with the Mason & Carpinters work as far as is Barganed for allreaddy" �100; "12 Share in the subdevition of the 7th gret lott" �18; "land and Meadow att agawam" �120; "a Ceader swamp lott" �10; "the Sixth share in the uper Devition of the seventh Great lott" �3. On 3 May, 1718, "Sarah Bartlett & Thomas Bartlet both of Plymouth were appointed administrators on the estate of "Robert Bartlet Late of Plymouth . . . kyed Intestate" On 3 May, 1718, Sarah Bartlett and Thomas Bartlett, as administrators, with Francis Adams as surety, al of Plymouth, gave a bond of �200. Sarah Bartlett signed by a mark. The witnesses were Elizabeth Torrey and Thomas Croade. An account of "The widdow of Robert Bartlett deceased" was allowed by Isaac Winslow, Judge of Probate, on 30 April, 1719.
