[ref 93:30-50] children of Peter Tomson & Sarah his Wife 1699-1706: Sarah, Peter, James, Joseph [ref 93:4-111] Peter Tomson3 of Plymouth and Plympton, Mass., son of Lieutenant John Tomson and his wife Mary2 Cook (Francis), married Sarah ___, about 1699, and they had four children recorded at Plymouth: Sarah, Peter, James, Joseph. Peter Tomson3 died before 29 April, 1731, when his son James was appointed administrator. The widow Sarah died 24 October, 1742, at Halifax, Mass., in her seventy-third year, according to her gravestone. [ref 93:22-135] On 29 April, 1731, "James Tomson of Plimton . . . Husbandman Son of Peter Tomson late of Plimton aforesd deceased . . . Intestate" was appointed administrator. In an unrecorded bone on 29 April, 1731, "James Tomson Son of Peter Tomson late of Plymton . . . Yeoman deceased" as administrator, with "David Bozworth of Plimton . . . Yeoman & Jacob Tomson of Middleborough Yeoman" as sureties, gave a bond for �600, witnessed by Barnabas Shurtleff and Edward Winslow. On 30 April, 1731, Thomas Tomson and Jacob Tomson, of Middleborough, and David Bosworth, of Plympton, were appointed to apprais the real and personal estate. On 23 September, 1731, Thomas Tomson and Jacob Tomson, of Middleborough, and David Bosworth, of Plympton, were appointed to appraise the real and personal estate. On 23 September, 1731, the inventory was taken by the three appraisers. The real estate was: "all his homestead land meadow and swamps which lye there Joyning together with the buildings and fences thereon" �520; "His meadow lying on winatuxet River" �100; "His Intrest in the cedar Swamp in . . . the majors purchase in Pembrooke" �15; "His two acres of land lying on winatuxet neck being the third part of a lot of land containing Six acres formerly laid out in the Right of Jacob Cook Senior" �1, 10s.; "His lot of land containing by Estemation: 215 acres being in number the fifteenth lot in . . . Snipetuet purchase" �240; "His percel of land containing by Estemation: 156 acres lying in . . . Snipetuet purchase (Sixty acres whereof is part of the 24th: Lot:) as may appear upon the Records of Said Snipetuet purchase" �130; "His lot of land containing: 61: acres: being in number the Tenth lot in the aforesaid Snipetuet Purchase" �26; "His lot of Cedar Swamp containing about 36 acres lying in the cedar Swamp called back brook cedar swamp in . . . Snipetuet purchase" �30; "His lot of Cedar Swamp containing Two acres and three Quarters lying in the little cedar Swamp called the Rail Swamp: in Said Snipetuet purchase" �2; "His Quarter of a Sawmill Standing on the . . . Herring River in . . . Plimpton" �40. The inventory amounted to �1432, 19s, 9 d. James Tomson, administrator, and the three appraisers made oath to the inventory, 23 September, 1731. On 23 September, 1731, "Sarah Tomson (widow & Relict of mr Peter Tomson late of Plympton . . . Deceased) & Peter Tomson, James Tomson, Joseph Tomson & Sarah Bosworth ye wife of nehemiah Bozworth All of ye Town of Plympton aforesd Children to ye said Decd Have by mutual agreement Divided & settled ye Estate both Real & Personal which did belong to said Deceased.
