[ref 30] Estate of Mercy Tomson3 (Mary Cooke) Adm. 3 May 1756. Distribution of �81.13.2., sd dec'd leaving no surviving brothers or sisters, the administrator is directed to pay out to the surviving children of several brothers & sisters as follows: to the children of John Tomson, Jacob Tomson, Peter Tomson, all dec'd & brothers of the sd Mercy/Marcy, �10.4.1. and also a like sum to the children of Mary Tabour, Esther Reed, Elizabeth Swift & Lydia Soul, dec'd & sisters of the sd Marcy (19:135-6; 236; Plym. pr #20604; 14:67,71). [ref 30:40] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mercy Tomson3, daughter of Lieut. John Tomson and Mary2 Cooke (Francis) of Middleborough, Mass., outlived all of her brothers and sisters, and died at Halifax, Mass., 19 April, 1756, in her 85th year. She was unmarried, and her estate was divided among the heirs of the four brothers and four sisters who had married and left issue. [ref 93:19-135] On 3 May, 1756, "Zebediah Tomson of Halifax . . . Yeoman" was appointed administrator of the estate of "Marey Thomson late of sd Halifax Spinster decd . . . Intestate" On 3 May, 1756, "Zebadiah Tomson" yeoman, of Halifax, as administrator, with Moses Standish, yeoman, of Halifax, and "Thos Foster" of Plymouth, Esqr", as sureties, gave a bond of �200. The witnesses were Josiah Morton, Jr., and Edward Winslow. On 13 May, 1756, an inventory of the estate was taken by Moses Standish, Robert Waterman and Noah Cushing. The total amount was �92,18s. No real estate was mentioned. The three appraisers made oath to it on 8 June, 1756, and Zebadiah Tomson, administrator, made oath to it on 5 July 1756. "The account of Zebediah Thomson admr on the Estate of Marcy Tomson late of Halifax . . . decd: showed debts due to: Wido Martha Soul; Peter Tomson; Davd Simons; Wido Mary Tomson Senr; Wido Mary Tomson Junr; Thomas Tomson, Jr.; Dr Loring. The account was allowe 5 July, 1756. "Forasmuch as upon the Adjustment of the aforeging acco there remains a Ballance of" �91, 13s., 2d., "due . . . to the Heirs & Legall representatives of the said & the sd decd dyeing & Leaving no Surviveing Brother or Sister, The admr is therefore Hereby Ordered & Directed to Pay out unto the then Surviving Children of the severall Brothers and Sisters of the said Decd the Severall Proportions following, Viz, unto the Children of John Tomson Jacob Tomson Thomas Tomson & Peter Tomson all decd and Brothers of the said Marcy decd" �10, 4s., 1d., 3 qr., "that is unto each of the aforenamed Brothers Children in equall Parts and also the Like Sum of" �10, 4s., 1d., 3 qr., "unto the Children Mary Tabour, Esther Reed, Elizabeth Swift * Lydia Soul (decd) the Sisters of the said Marcy decd that is to each Brothers and Sisters Children in equall Proportion the aforesd sums, and all which make the first mention'd sum" This settlement was decreed, 24 July, 1756, by John Cushing, Judge of Probate (14:67,71,395).
