JOHN3 CLEMENTS (Robert2 Robert1), born in Haverhill, Mass., 16 Sept. 1653, died in Haverhill, 16 May 1692. He married in Haverhill, 22 Feb. 1676, Elizabeth Ayer, born in Haverhill, 10 Nov. 1652, died in Haverhill about 1699, daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Palmer) Ayer. John Clements served as a soldier in King Philip's War, in 1676. He took the Oath of Allegiance at Haverhill, in 1677. John Clements of Haverhill, conveys, to father-in-law Robert Ayer of Haverhill, for 200. his house, barn, and cider-mill, with all his ox-common, part of which he bought of Robert Swan, Sr., and all lands in Haverhill and income of the same, 2 Mar. 1691-2 (Ipswich Deeds, 5:471). As John Clements died within a few months of this transfer of property, it seems probable that the land was in trust for the benefit of his wife and children. Elizabeth Clements of Haverhill, widow, with Joseph Browne and Samuel Dalton on her bond, was appointed administratrix of the estate of John Clements of Haverhill, 29 Mar. 1692-3. Her account of Administration was filed in Court, 24 Sept. 1695, and endorsed on the back of the paper is the names and ages of the children except Hannah. Children, born in Haverhill 1677-1692: Samuel, Job, Mary, Elizabeth, John, Nathaniel, Hannah, Abiah. [ref 88:68]
