15 Sep 1864 Chatham. Commissioned for Particular or Irregular service prior to joining the Channel Squadron.

16 Sept to 31 Dec 1864 Irregular service. Medical report : brain disease, and VD onboard : number of Cases of Disease and Injury.

1865-68 Channel Squadron

1869-74 Coast Guard Service, Portland

23 Jan 1871 7 ship's stewards will appear at a Court Martial to be held on board the Duke of Wellington, at Portsmouth, tomorrow, which includes E.J. Knight of the Achilles.

1875-77 Guardship at Liverpool

17 May 1877 Commissioned Devonport - officers turned over from Resistance.

11 Feb 1900 The old Achilles is to be stripped and dismantled. Her last service was in the recent Parliamentary return, wherein she helped to swell the lists of armoured cruisers.
