1 Dec 1818 Included in a list of ships building to replace the great number that have been condemned : the sloop Alacrity

11 Oct 1820 the Admiralty announced that the commanding officers of the following vessels now cruising on the South America Station, ie the Owen Glendower, Hyperion, Creole, Conway, Slaney, and Alacrity, have been supplied with their instructions, should the right circumstances arise, authorising them to detain Portuguese or Spanish vessels in accordance with the several Treaties with foreign powers for preventing the Illegal Traffic in slaves with those countries.

3 Oct 1821 Lieutenant James Puckford has been appointed to the Alacrity.

27 Nov 1821 Based on the station at the Brazils.

7 Jan 1822 Lieutenant James R. Lawrence, has been appointed to the Alacrity.

3 Oct 1822 Captain Thomas Porter, has been appointed to the Alacrity;

3 Oct 1822 South America station.

9 - 10 Apr 1826 the ship's boats sent to destroy three Greek piratical vessels near the island of Psara. See p. 251 at www.archive.org/details/royalnavyhistory06clow.

8 Jan 1827 Mediterranean station

Portsmouth June 23 1827 Reported to be providing protection to British trade in the Archipelago, and other places where Greek and Turkish differences are turning into warfare.

20 Aug 1827 A part of the British squadron in the Mediterranean.

Malta 4 June 1828 Reports state she is in the Archipelago.

Portsmouth, Aug 23 1828 Reported to be a part of the squadron blockading the coast of the Morea.

Portsmouth 21 Dec 1829 (Commander Nias), arrived this afternoon in 52 days from Vourla, 33 days from Malta, and 14 days from Gibraltar. The boatswain of the Meteor, who was to have been invalided home in the Alacrity, threw himself overboard the day after he embarked, and was drowned.

23 Dec 1829 Portsmouth Came into harbour to be paid off.
