This was the first frigate on which copper was tried.

27 Apr 1793 captured the French privateer Chauvelin.

27 Apr 1793 Alarm and Swallow captured the French privateer Enfant de la Patrie.

Feb 1796 Alarm and Zebra captured a French privateer, Name unknown, at Trinidad.

Feb - Mar 1796 Alarm and a sloop captured 3 French privateers, Names unknown, in the Gulf of Paria, near Trinidad.

5 Jan 1795 Bellona and Alarm, Captain Charles Carpenter, in the West Indies, departed in chase of a French squadron taking the Duras, 20.

Feb 1797 capture of the Island of Trinidad, along with the San-Damaso, 74, and induced the destruction of 3 Spanish ships of the line and a frigate.

5 Jul 1798 came to anchor at Port Royal, Jamaica.

6 Jul 1798 departed Port Royal with the Stork.

1 Jan 1799 Capt. E. Fellowes. At Jamaica.

12 Feb-30 Mar 1799 captured 1 merchant vessel whilst on the Jamaica station.

25 Nov 1799 the Amphion and the Alarm captured the Spanish letter of marque Asturiana, 24 guns, 100 men, on the Jamaica station, whilst bound from Cadiz to Vera Cruz, with a valuable cargo.

Circa Aug-Sep 1800 captured the Spanish privateer Confiance, felucca, 3 guns, 55 men, in the West Indies.

Sep 1800 captured the French privateer Gen. Toussaint.

7 Apr 1802 arrived Sheerness from the River.

10 Apr 1802 arrived from Sheerness and sailed through the downs for Spithead.

14 Apr 1802 arrived Spithead the Alarm, 32, from the Downs.

21 Jul 1802 departed Spithead the Diamond, Captain Elphinstone ; Revolutionaire, Hon. Captain Capel ; Magicienne, Captain Vansittart ; Pomone, Captain Gower ; Alcmene, Captain Stiles ; and Alarm frigate, Captain Parker ; Sophie, Captain Rosenhagen, and the Racoon, sloops of war, Captain Rathborne, for Lymington and Jersey, to convey the Dutch troops from those places to Cuxhaven.

27 Aug 1802 passed through Spithead from Lymington, the Pomone, 44, Captain Gower ; Magicienne, Captain Vansittart ; and Alarm, Captain Parker, with Dutch troops for Cuxhaven.

29 Aug 1802 sailed through the Downs for the Texel.

16 Oct 1802 arrived at Spithead, from the Texel.

20 Oct 1802 came into Portsmouth harbour to be paid off.

23 Oct 1802 on Thursday a Court Martial was held at Portsmouth on Mr. Thomas Bayley, a pilot, for running HM ship Alarm on shore on a sand bank, at the entrance to the channel into Helvoetsluys on 28 Aug when under his charge. The Court agreed that the Alarm was run on shore on a sand bank, but as it appear to be occasioned by the shifting of the Helder Sand and not any neglect on the part of Mr Bayley, did adjudge him to be acquitted.

20 Nov 1802 the Alarm, Captain Parker, paid off at Portsmouth and her crew turned over to the Donegal and Amazon.

Circa 21 Nov 1802 Captain Parker, of the Alarm, is appointed to the Amazon. The Alarm is to be paid off.

10 Mar 1803 the following frigates in ordinary at Portsmouth: the Alarm, Andromeda, Galatea, Topaze, Decade and Seahorse are to be inspected and if found in a fit state for service are to be fitted for commissioning.
