8 Jun 1796 Dutch frigate Zephyr captured by the Andromeda 32, and two sloops, in the Firth of Forth ; where she was lying, unapprized of hostilities.

1 Jan 1799 Capt. W. Taylor. At Sheerness.

Circa 4 Jun 1800 in Margate Roads, as she was saluting, some powder blew up in the cabin, and deprived fourteen men of their sight, and otherwise wounded them in a most afflicting manner. Part of them are, however, expected to recover.

Circa 30 Jun 1800 Captain Mainwaring, of the Babet, is appointed to the Andromeda, and Captain Inman, of the Andromeda, is appointed to the command of La Desiree.

27 Jun-8 Jul 1800 involved in the operation to capture the French frigate D�sir�e from Dunkerque harbour and burn other vessels. The D�sir�e was subsequently purchased into the Service.

24 Oct 1800 Portsmouth, arrived the Andromeda, from the Downs.

30 Nov 1800 Portsmouth, departed the Fairy, to Falmouth, to collect the outwardbound ships, who, with the Andromeda, and Bourdelais, will convoy them to the West Indies, as soon as the wind permits.

1 Dec 1800 Portsmouth, departed with Lord Lavington on board, for the West Indies.

7 Dec 1800 Portsmouth, departed the Andromeda, and Bourdelais, with a convoy for the West Indies.

Mar 1801 Is reported to have arrived at Barbadoes with her convoy.

16 Mar 1801 departed Barbadoes with the Leviathan, Unit�, Drake, L'Eclair, schooner, and Alexandria, tender, with 1,500 troops for Grand Saline Bay, St. Bartholomew. Following their arrival, circa 20th, at St. Bartholomew, the Andromeda and Alexandria were detached to St. Thomas's to watch for any reaction to the landings at St. Bartholomew. The Coromandel arrived with the 2nd West India regiment on the 23rd, and a convoy with reinforcements arrived from England on the 24th, under the command of the Proselyte. The Hornet and Fanny, armed brig, were sent to the main harbour in the Island to detain a number of French privateers etc., before the armistice was signed, but they weren't able to get into position to perform the task and even after a chase of 24 hours were unable to detain any of the vessels concerned.

25 Mar 1801 leaving sufficient troops and the Proselyte, Hornet, and Drake to defend the island the rest of the troops were embarked and the squadron departed for St Thomas's on the 26th. The Unit� was to be detached with the prisoners to Martinique.

27 Mar 1801 at sea, en route to St. Thomas's with a convoy of troops etc. to attempt the capture of that island.

17 Jun 1801 when the Falmouth packet Princess Amelia arrived at Halifax the St Alban's and Andromeda were in harbour.

London, October 1802. Notice is hereby given to the Officers and Crew of His Majesty's Ships Andromeda and Prevoyante, will be paid their respective Proportions of the Proceeds of a small Part of the Cargo (unclaimed) of the Prussian Galliot Kauffhandel, detained the 8th May 1800.; and of the Ship Rosette and her Cargo of Salt, detained the 21st of May 1800, by the Squadron of Dunkirk ; the Ann Hired Cutter will also be paid for the former Capture, and His Majesty's Sloop Atalante, together with the Representatives of the officers and crew of the late HM Ship Babel, for the latter, at the Sun Tavern...�

26 Jul 1802 orders came down this day for the following ships to proceed for Portsmouth, to be paid off, on their arrival from the West Indies, if they should put in here, at Plymouth, by contrary winds : Leviathan, flag-ship, Excellent, Magnificent, Cumberland, Audacious, Goliath, Ganges, and Elephant, 74 each, Severn, 44, Emerald, 36, Decide, 44, Venus ,36, Andromeda, 36, Castor, 32, Heureux, 14, and Drake, 18.

21 Aug 1802 departed Port Royal.

24 Sep 1802 arrived Spithead the Andromeda, 36, Captain Fielding, from Martinico.

2 Oct 1802 remain at Spithead.

8 Oct 1802 paid off at Portsmouth, and laid up in ordinary.

10 Mar 1803 the following frigates in ordinary at Portsmouth: the Alarm, Andromeda, Galatea, Topaze, Decade and Seahorse are to be inspected and if found in a fit state for service are to be fitted for commissioning.
