25 Aug 1813 arrived Halifax, from St. Yhomas's, in 24 days, with 2 vessels.

10-11 Sep 1813 departed Halifax with a convoy for the West Indies.

Port Royal, Jamaica 15 Oct 1814 Recently returned from a cruise in the Mona Passage.

Portsmouth Dec 14 1814 arrived from Jamaica : she reports that she departed with a convoy which parted about three weeks ago in bad weather.

Portsmouth 20 Jan 1824 (Captain Chads), fitting for the East India station.

1824 - 1826 Burmese War - medal awarded to surviving officers, seamen, and marines - "India, No. 1" that decoration, with clasp for "Ava"). See p. 242-> at www.archive.org/details/royalnavyhistory06clow.

Aug 1824 following ships composed the naval force in India : Tees (26 guns), Alligator (28), Slaney (20), Arachne (18), Larne (20), Sophie (18), Liffey (50). Of this force only the Larne was at Rangoon, the Sophie having been despatched to Bengal for provisions, &c.

3 Sep 1824 departed from Madras for Rangoon, arriving on the 15th and took command of the naval forces.

19 Sep 1824 Offensive operations against Penang, including the boats of the Arachne and Sophie, and the Diana steam-vessel.

2-4 Dec 1824 Defensive operations by the boats of the Arachne.

14 Dec 1824 the steam-vessel Diana, the pinnaces of the Arachne and Sophie &c. involved in further operations.

22 Jan 1825 Satellite, Diana and ships' boats &c. involved in offensive operations.

13 Feb 1825 Alligator, Arachne, Sophie, Diana, Satellite and ships' boats &c. involved in further offensive operations.

middle of May 1825 following the departure of the Sophie the Alligator and Arachne were the only men-of-war at Rangoon.

Late 1825 Captain Dawson died, and was succeeded in command of the Arachne by Lieutenant Andrew Baird of the Boadicea.

8 Mar 1826 end of the Burma war.

1 May 1826 departed Rangoon, for Madras.

22 May 1826 arrived Madras for a quick refit and stock up of water and provisions, before departing for home.

29 May 1826 departed Madras for England.

27 Sep 1826 arrived Spithead from Rangoon.

29 Sep 1826 entered Portsmouth harbour, from Spithead, with the Naiad.

27 Nov 1826 Portsmouth.

6 Jan 1827 (Captain Pettman), is being fitted out for the West Indies at Portsmouth, and is expected to sail in a few days for Vera Cruz.

23 Jun 1828 departed Crooked Island on the 9 May for Jamaica.

6 Sep 1828 The Bustard, arrived Portsmouth from Nassau, reports the Arachne, was expected from Jamaica.

18 Jul 1829 News from St. Kitt's, advises that the Arachne had brought materials from Jamaica to assist repairing the damaged Barham

12 Sep 1829 at Barbadoes.

28 Sep 1829 at Vera Cruz.

11 Nov 1829 Reported to have departed from Havannah for Jamaica.

26 Dec 1829 At Port Royal.

26 Jun 1830 arrived Portsmouth from the West Indies.

30 Jun 1830 departed Portsmouth for Plymouth, to be paid off.

Circa Nov 1830, is to be brought forward for commissioning at Plymouth.

25 Feb 1831 arrived Portsmouth from Leghorn.

21 Jul 1831 in Hamoaze.

28 Sep 1831 Plymouth, (Commander Agar), went out of Harbour and the ship's company was paid wages on Thursday.

30 Sep 1831 departed Plymouth for Bermuda.

20 Oct 1831 arrived at Madeira from Plymouth and departed same day for Teneriffe.

15 Dec 1831 went ashore on a reef off the uninhabited island of Mariguana. At a subsequent court martial held on 13-14 Feb no blame was attributable to the officers, as the cause of the accident was said to be due to the N.W. current.

22 Dec 1831 arrived at Bermuda, as the Winchester departed for Barbadoes.

10 Apr 1832 was reported to be at Chagres when the packet Lord Melville departed Jamaica for England.

10 May 1832 at Port Royal, Jamaica, when the Champion departed for England, and due to proceed in 48 hours for the Gulf of Mexico.

31 May 1832 had arrived at Bermuda from Panama and Jamaica, and was preparing to depart for Halifax.

4 Jun 1832 arrived Bermuda.

2 Nov 1832 arrived Halifax from the Westward.

21 Nov 1832 departed Halifax for Barbadoes.

9 Dec 1832 arrived at Barbadoes from Halifax.

8 Jan 1833 reported to be cruising off Demerara.

22 Jan 1833, in company with the Pallas salvaged the Isabel. 8 Apr 1834 residue of sum remitted from abroad due to be paid.

21 Apr 1833 at the Leeward Islands.

13 May 1833 at Barbadoes.

22 May 1833 following a collision with the Columbine was in Halifax harbour and reported to be very leaky.

17 Aug 1833 reported to be at Demerara.

6 Jul 1833 at Barbadoes.

28 Jul 1833 (Commander Agar), arrived Barbadoes from a cruise and subsequently reported to have gone to St. Kitts.

21 Sep 1833 arrived St. Thomas's from Cura�oa, Cumana, and Porto Cabello. The earlier reports of her being in collision with the Columbine when leaving Demerara are exaggerated : the Arachne lost her jib-boom ; and the Columbine was undamaged.

circa 14 Oct 1833 reported to have departed Trinidad on a cruise.

7 Nov 1833 arrived Barbadoes from St. Vincent.

3 Dec 1833 arrived Antigua.

29 Jun 1834 departed Port Royal, Jamaica, for Carthagena.

28 Jul 1834 reported to be in the Gulf of Mexico.

19 Nov 1834 arrived New York. Is reported to have experienced bad weather off Sandy-hook - all well.

12 Dec 1834 departed New York.

27 Mar 1835 detained the Spanish slave schooner Joven Reyna / Joven Reina : proportions arising from the moiety of the proceeds will be paid to those who were actually on board at the time of capture, or to their representatives duly authorised to receive the same, on Wednesday the 27 Apr 1836.

2 May 1835 arrived Portsmouth from Vera Cruz and Tampico 10 Feb.
