25 Dec 1796 Lord Bridport delayed in his departure from Spithead to meet the French fleet, during which a number of accidents involving ships of the line took place, including the Atlas.

15 Jan 1799 at Spithead and ready for sea, with the fleet.

28 Jan 1799 Portsmouth, departed with the squadron under Queen Charlotte, for a cruise off Brest.

4 Mar 1799 came into Cawsand Bay from Torbay with the Lancaster, 64.

6 Apr 1799 departed from Cawsand Bay to join the Channel fleet.

19 Apr 1799 arrived Cawsand Bay from a cruise.

10 May 1799 departed last night with the Royal Sovereign, for the fleet, and this morning the Atlas, returned, having carried away her main top-mast close to the cap of the cross trees.

11 May 1799 departed last night with the Formidable, Canada, Triumph, Spitfire, and the Lady Duncan lugger, to join Lord Bridport's fleet.

4 Jun 1799 arrived off Basque road, and on the 8th departed for England.

18 Jun 1799 arrived Cawsand Bay.

18 Jul 1799 departed from Cawsand Bay.

25 Sep 1799 departed from Cawsand Bay for Torbay.

1 Jan 1800 Plymouth, arrived from Torbay.

7 Jan 1800 Plymouth, at ten am the Atlas, with only a temporary rudder, when turning out of the Sound to go up Hamoaze, near the south-east ridge of St. Nicholas's Island, missed stays, and went ashore where the Conqueror 74 guns, was lost in 1758. Fortunately the Loire, coming in from sea, and seeing her situation, moored as near the Atlas as could be done with safety, with three anchors out ahead, and the Atlas having cut her masts away, the boats of the Fleet being now at hand, a hawser was payed from the best bower of La Loire on board the Atlas, and with a fast flowing tide she swung off into deep water, and anchored in the Sound at about 3 pm.

9 Jan 1800 Plymouth, was towed up the harbour by the boats of the Fleet and Dock Yard. As soon as her guns, powder, provisions, and stores, are taken out, she is to go into dock to be examined.

17 Jan 1800 Plymouth, went into dock, much damaged in her bottom by beating so violently on the reefs of St Nicholas Island.

Circa Feb 1800 John Kent, Purser of the Resolution, is appointed to the Atlas.

10 Feb 1800 Plymouth, went out of dock.

3 May 1800 Plymouth, went into Cawsand Bay, having repaired the damages she received on 7 Jan.

14 May 1800 Plymouth, departed to join the Channel fleet, with the Prince, Havick, Railieur, and Trompeuse 18.

18 May 1800 Plymouth, arrived with the Mars, whilst the Channel fleet passed up for Torbay having experienced the fury of the gale when laying to off Brest on Friday last under storm stay-sails ; the sea ran mountains high, and the wind suddenly shifted from S.W. to N.W. lay several men of war on their beams ends, but soon righted, though they shipped several heavy seas and the Atlas damaged her main top-mast.

30 May 1800 Plymouth, departed to join the fleet with the Mars, Ramilies, Ajax, Resolution, Stag, Indefatigable, Flora, armed brig, and Attack gun brig, with a fleet of merchant ships under convoy.

17 Aug 1800 Plymouth, arrived from the fleet.

30 Aug 1800 Plymouth, departed with the Centaur, to join the Channel fleet.

19 Oct 1800 Plymouth, arrived with the Neptune, Temeraire, and Centaur, from Earl St. Vincent's fleet.

29 Oct 1800 Plymouth, departed to join the fleet in Torbay.

12 Mar 1801 the Ville de Paris, Adm. Cornwallis, arrived Torbay with the Royal George, San Josef, Prince George, Windsor Castle, Glory, Temeraire, Neptune, Atlas, Prince, and Captain from off Brest, where R.-Adm Saumarez remained with a strong squadron.

15 Mar 1801 departed Torbay with the fleet which arrived on Thursday evening, the 12th, along with the Unicorn, which arrived Friday evening.

17 Mar 1801 has just come to anchor in Torbay the fleet which departed on the 15th.

21 Mar 1801 the weather being reportedly blowing a heavy gale at W by N the fleet consisting of the same vessels as on 12 Mar., along with the Venerable, is taking shelter in Torbay.

30 Mar 1801 the Channel Fleet, now made up as follows : the Ville de Paris, Adm. Cornwallis ; Royal Sovereign, V.-Adm. Harvey ; Windsor Castle, V.-Adm. Mitchell ; Prince George, R.-Adm. Cotton ; Princess Royal, R.-Adm. Gower, Temeraire, R.-Adm. Whitshed ; Barfleur, R.-Adm. Collingwood ; San Josef, Capt Wolsley ; Atlas, Capt Murray ; Formidable, Capt Grindale ; Glory, Capt Draper ; Prince, Capt Northesk ; and frigate Fisgard, Capt Martin, departed Torbay for the Channel.

7 May 1801 arrived Cawsand Bay with the Neptune from the Channel Fleet to refit.

16 May 1801 departed Cawsand Bay to join the Channel Fleet.

14 Sep 1801 arrived Plymouth, the Atlas, Capt T Jones, from the Channel Fleet.

23 Sep 1801 departed Cawsand Bay with the Neptune, and bullocks for the Channel Fleet.

28 Oct 1801 the Namur is reported to have led the Atlas, Princess Royal, Formidable, Windsor Castle and Orion into Bearhaven harbour. It has subsequently blown hard and the Orion carried away her main and mizen masts and has been detached to Plymouth. The Glory, Malta and Resolution had parted in a fog and were expected shortly.

11 Nov 1801 the following ships were detached to cruise off Bantry Bay : the Windsor Castle, Glory, Namur, Atlas, Princess Royal, and Formidable.

17 Nov 1801 Admiral Sir A. Mitchell made the signal for unbending sails, which was followed by the fleet, therefore it is supposed the squadron which consists of the following ships will winter near Beerhaven, in Bantry Bay, viz. Windsor Castle, Temeraire, Barfleur, Princess Royal, Formidable, Atlas, Namur, Majestic, Resolution, Vengeance, Malta, of 84 guns, Centaur. The Glory, had put into Cork, and the Juste, had not joined. Provisions were plenty : a fat sheep nine shillings, Geese one shilling each, eggs two-pence per dozen, and fish and game to be had in great abundance.

29 Dec 1801 this evening anchored at St Helen's, IoW, on arrival from Bantry Bay, with the squadron under the command of V.-Adm. Sir A. Mitchell, with a view to trying the mutineers from the Squadron.

5 Apr 1802 departed Spithead to the Eastward to be paid off.

6 Apr 1802 arrived in the Downs en route for Sheerness.

7 Apr 1802 departed the Downs for Sheerness.

9 Apr 1802 arrived at Sheerness and then departed with a light breeze for Chatham.

1802 reduced to 74.

Circa 26 Mar 1804 Capt W Hope apptd to the Atlas.

3 Nov 1804 arrived Spithead, the Atlas, Capt Pym, from the North Sea Squadron.

23 Nov 1804 departed Spithead to join the Channel Fleet.

12 Dec 1804, at Brixham, it is reported that the Channel Fleet had arrived, including the : Ville de Paris, Prince George, Defiance, Britannia, Windsor Castle, Plantagenet, Goliath, Princess Royal, Thunderer, Courageaux, Dragon, and Warrior, joining the Atlas, Temeraire, and Nemesis, which were here. No officers allowed ashore which caused some disappointment to the trades people.

21 Jan 1806 Northumberland and Atlas joined the squadron under V.-adm Duckworth. 1 Feb Kingfisher joined with intelligence that a French squadron had been seen steering for Santo-Domingo. 3rd was joined by the Epervier off Saint-Thomas. 5th Magicienne joined confirming the intelligence. 6 Feb a French Squadron was sighted leaving Santo-Domingo. the action of Santo-Domingo Roads commenced ; 2 French ships (Imp�rial and Diom�de) run ashore and 3 (Alexandre, Jupiter, Brave) taken ; the wash-up ; the casualties ; more wash-up.

15 May 1810 is reprted by the Leda to be at Cadiz
