25 Jun 1803, Endymion captured the French ship-corvette Bacchante, which was added to the British navy, under her French name.

20 Oct 1803 has been taken into dock to be inspected and repaired for commission.

10 Nov 1803 Capt Dashwood apptd to the Bacchante.

14 Nov 1803 taken into dock at Plymouth, previous to being commissioned, with a defect in her stern.

4 Dec 1803 commissioned at Plymouth by Capt Dashwood, of Stonehouse.

4 Jun 1804 arrived Spithead with a convoy from the Downs, the Bacchante, Capt Dashwood.

Circa 9 Jun 1804 the Bacchante, Capt Dashwood, is apptd with the Beaulieu, to the convoy bound to the West Indies. Lord Seaforth, Capts Ekins, Cadogan, and Coghlan and Lieuts are going out as passengers.

Circa 16 Jun 1804 the Beaulieu, Baccante, and convoy for the West Indies, are detained by contrary winds.

Circa 15 Sep 1804 letters received from Barbadoes report the arrival of the Amelia, Lord Proby ; Beaulieu, Capt Ekins ; Bacchante, Capt Dashwood ; King Fisher, Capt Cribb ; Diana, Capt Maling ; Fly, Capt Pellew, from England with convoys ; subsequently departed Barbadoes the Diana, Baccante, and Fly for Jamaica.

5 Apr 1805 ship's boats cut out of two schooners laden with sugar.

14 May 1805 captured the Spanish privateer Le Felix, schooner, 6 guns, 42 men, off the Havana.

18 Nov 1805 captured the Spanish privateer Les dos Azares, schooner, 2 guns,36 men, on the Jamaica station.

29 Aug 1806 ship's boats cut out one armed brig and two armed feluccas.

Circa Sep 1806 captured a French privateer, Name unknown.

29 Oct 1806 captured 3 Spanish privateers : San Antonio, 1 gun 30 men ; Descado, 1 gun 30 men ; and a brig, name unknown, 4 guns, on the Jamaica Station.

14 Feb 1807 Bacchante and Mediator captured the French national schooner Dauphin, the fort of Samana, and recovered US and British vessels taken by the privateers.

13 Sep 1807 captured the Spanish privateer Amor de la Patria, 3 guns, 63 men, on the Jamaica station.

11 May 1808 cruising off Cape Antonio, island of Cuba, chased and captured the French brig-corvette Griffon. The Griffon was afterwards added to the British navy under the same name

The following concluding comment was included by William James : "The crowd of canvass, under which, owing to the lightness of the breeze, this action was fought by the Bacchante, is somewhat remarkable. She carried sky-sails with the wind abeam, and above the main sky-sail, a lateen " moon-raker," which hoisted 14 feet above the mast-head. It was the invention we believe, of Captain Dacres, Captain Inglefield's predecessor in the command of the Bacchante."
