12 Aug 1842 at Woolwich being fitted out for service.

10 Oct 1842 earmarked as a permanent tender to HMS Excellent, the Gunnery Training Ship, for the use of the students from the Gunnery Training Ship.

14 Oct 1842 departed Portsmouth for Deptford to be fitted with a screw propellor, by Mr. Steinman.

1847 Change in conditions of service for certain Engineers.
