10 Jan 1871 carried out trials in Stokes Bay following a refit and then returned to Portsmouth harbour.

27 Sep 1876 Recommissioned at Halifax, NS

1879 Flag Ship, North America and West Indies

1885 being refitted for for further service on the North America and West Indies station, and short eight-inch breech-loading guns replaced her old twelve-ton muzzle-loaders.

Plymouth 31 Dec 1885 having recently commissioned (15 Dec ?), departed from Plymouth to carry out gunnery trials : engine trials are planned for the 5 Jan.

Plymouth 18 Jan 1886 departed for Madeira, Cape St Vincent and the Cape Verde Islands, en route for the North America station, where she will relieve the Northampton as Flag Ship on the station and soon experienced a nor'-west gale.

Apr 1886 on arriving on station picked up the Fkag Officer and some of the small corvettes on station, and made an inspection of the southern division, before heading north to Bermuda and Halifax for the spring and summer.

2 Apr 1889 Re-commissioned at Bermuda

1890 Flag Ship, North America and West Indies

1890 Officers also borne on the books for the Serveying Service and Halifax Yard.

May 1892 has been commissioned at Devonport for use as a sea-going guardship at Pembroke.

1904 Renamed Indus III, Training Ship
