1 Jul 1841 Avon departed Plymouth for Pembroke with a party of men for the San Josef, to rig and bring the frigate Cambrian back to Plymouth.

20 Aug 1841 Plymouth, has been commissioned by Captain H. D. Chads.

24 Aug 1841 embarked her detachment of marines at Plymouth.
