Cassandra, 1806
Type: Cutter ; Armament 10
Launched : 1806 ; Disposal date or year : 1807
Disposal Details : Lost off Bordeaux
BM: 111 tons

1806 Built at Bermuda of the pencil cedar, measure, BOM, 111 tons ; pierced to mount, but too small conveniently to carry, ten 18-pounder carronades, rigged as cutters, with a crew of 50 men and boys.

1808 a less than complimentary comment on this type of vessel, which, although built in 1806, is included by William James in the volume for 1808, presumably in the light of the experiences of those who had departed them, and the results achieved or otherwise - that said this vessel reflected some improvement over the 75-78 ton vessels built in 1804.
