Circa Jul 1801 Captain Thomas Peyton, of the De Ruyter, of 68 guns, a Dutch ship in his Majesty's service, is appointed to the command of his Majesty's ship Monarch, 74 guns.

5 Jul 1801 arrived Sheerness the De Ruyter, Capt Peyton, and the Vlieter frigate, 44, from Chatham.

10 Jul 1801 the survivors from the Dutch frigate Ambuscade were put on board the De Ruyter pro tem.

25 Jul 1801 departed Sheerness for the Downs ; Capt Dacres.

9 Aug 1801 departed the Downs for Spithead.

10 Aug 1801 arrived Spithead from the Downs.

17 Aug 1801 a Court Martial was held on board the Gladiator, in Portsmouth harbour, on Lieutenant Croad, of the De Ruyter, for drunkenness. The charge being proved, he was sentenced to be dismissed his Majesty's service.

25 Sep 1801 a Court Martial was held on board the Gladiator, in Portsmouth harbour, on Mr. Robert Welch, Surgeon of the Dutch ship De Rujter, in HM service, at the request of Samuel Mark Holliday, First Lieutenant of the said ship, for treating him with contempt, and disobedience of orders. The charges were in no part proved, but found frivolous and vexatious and he was acquitted accordingly.

28 Nov 1801 departed Spithead the De Ruyter, armed en flute, and the Calcutta armed transport, Captain Anderson, with sealed orders.

30 Dec 1801 departed Spithead for Madeira, the De Ruyter, armed en flute, Captain V. Ballard, and the Calcutta armed transport, Captain Anderson, to take the 1st Batt. of the 85th Regt., from thence to Jamaica.

10 Feb 1802 the Arethusa, arrived Spithead, from Madeira, reports that prior to her departure the De Ruyter, and Calcutta departed Madeira for the West Indies with the 85th Regt.

13 Jan 1803 when the Falmouth packet Leicester arrived at Port Royal, Jamaica, she found lying there the Leviathan, 74 ; Bellerophon, 74 ; Vanguard, 74 ; Elephant, 74 ; Desiree, 40 ; and sloops Shark, Pelican and Racoon ; the De Ruyter arriving on the 17 Jan, with the 87th Regt., from Curacoa, and on the 21st the Theseus, 74 ; Cumberland, 74 ; Goliath, 74 ; and Ganges, 74, from a cruise.
