Notes:

9 Oct 1799 Portsmouth, arrived with a large convoy from the Downs.

26 Mar 1800 Portsmouth, arrived the Delft, Captain Redmill ; Europa, and Brakel, with the 13th regiment, from Ireland.

1 Apr 1800 Portsmouth, a Court Martial was held on board the Gladiator, for the trial of John Warner, a seaman belonging to the Delft, for having, on the morning of the 17th ult. cut down the hammock of James Lyon, a private in the 13th regiment, in consequence of which the latter received a severe contusion in the back ; and notwithstanding every medical assistance was given, he languished till noon, and then died. The Court were of opinion, that it appeared the said John Warner did cut down the hammock in which the said James Lyon lay, in consequence of which he received the injury that occasioned his death ; but that it did not appear that he knew any person was in the hammock at the time, or that he had any malicious or bad intention towards the deceased, and did therefore adjudge him to be acquitted.

5 Aug 1800 Portsmouth, departed with the Dictator, Trusty, Astrea, Termagant, Fury, and Tortoise, on a secret expedition.

8 Mar to 2 Sep 1801 Services off the coast of Egypt, Robert Redmill.

15 Jan 1802 was reported to be off Gibraltar. [i.e. did not arrive at Spithead before Xmas as stated in many UK papers.]

20 Feb 1802 arrived Spithead the Delft, armed en flute, in 21 days from Gibraltar, with the Argyll fencibles and put in quarantine at the Motherbank.

24 Feb 1802 relieved from quarantine and moved across the Solent to Spithead, and the fencibles will disembark tomorrow.

1 Mar 1802 the Evening Mail reports that the Texel, Alkmaar, Trusty, Inconstant, Thisbe and Ceres were to be stored for 5 months ; destination supposed to be Ceylon. In the event only the following 3 vessels appear to have departed at the end of the month for the West Indies: Delft, Alkmaar and Ceres.

30 Mar 1802 departed Spithead the Delft, Alkmaar, hospital ship, and Ceres, with the 55th regiment, a detachment of the 60th regiment, and some artillery on board for Jamaica.

Circa 14 May 1802 the Stork, just arrived Jamaica from England, in a letter to Portsmouth, reports the arrival of the troop ships Delft, Alkmaar, and Ceres at Jamaica, and the subsequent departure of the Alkmaar, and Ceres with the 55th Regt for Montego Bay, so dates a little more than approximate.

20 Aug 1802 arrived Spithead the Delft, armed en flute, Captain Robert Redmill, with troops on board, from Jamaica.

25 Aug 1802 departed Spithead to the eastward, to be paid off.

1 Sep 1802 arrived Sheerness, and departed for Chatham.
