4 Jun 1801 Purchased into the Service. See above for earlier service.

13 Jul 1801 has been taken into Dock at Sheerness to be coppered.

Circa 10 Aug 1801 Lt Shirley apptd to take command of the Dolphin at Sheerness.

6 Sep 1801 has been appointed to a convoy at Sheerness and has hoisted a signal for a convoy for the Elbe.

30 Dec 1801 the Dolphin cutter, Lt Shirley, is ordered to be paid off at Sheerness and sold.

3 Feb 1802 a Court Martial was held on board the Magicienne frigate, lying in Sheerness harbour, to try John Cook, alias Harris, a Jew, for desertion from his Majesty's cutter the Dolphin. After a short deliberation, the charge being fully proved, he was sentenced to receive 150 lashes.

14 Feb 1801 remains at Sheerness the Hebe, Jamaica, Ambuscade (Dutch), Raison, frigates ; Hermes, sloop ; Harpy, Speedwell, brigs ; with 19 gun brigs ; and the Dolphin cutter.
