Notes:

NB I have no knowledge regarding when [these] vessels were built or broken up for the Excise / Revenue Services, so these notes probably cover the activities of several vessels during the period covered. In fact, in this instance it would appear that there was an Excise Cutter Eagle based in the South West of England, usually Capt Adams, and a Revenue Cutter Eagle based in the North East of England, usually Capt Whitehead. I'll do my best to sort the various articles accordingly, but am not sure which ones were entitled to prize money having been allocated to the RN for duties in Holland in Aug 1799. The vessel based in the South West seems to reappear further along the Coast to the East, off Dorset and Hampshire &c., whilst another Eagle ? seems to appear in the South East in the interim for a few years....see below.

14 Jan 1799 Plymouth, arrived the Eagle Excise cutter, Captain Adams, from a cruize : she brought in the Morning Star and Charming Sally, two smuggling vessels laden with spirits from Guernsey.

16 Jul 1799 Plymouth, came in the Eagle, Excise cutter, with 300 ankers of spirits.

21 Jun 1800 arrived Plymouth from a cruize with the Teats-Hill, smuggling vessel, laden with spirits from Guernsey.

1 Mar 1802 by the great exertions of Captain Fraser, and crew of the Eagle revenue cutter, the cutter belonging to the Cambrian, 44, now departed this port, as her launch was going to the Devils Point, with a midshipman and eight seamen for fresh beef, the launch grounded, and notwithstanding the exertions of her crew remained aground, but has now been got off, and is safe in Dock at Frank's Quarry.

3 Jun 1802 arrived Plymouth from a cruise the Eagle, excise cutter, Capt Adams.

17 Jul 1802 arrived Plymouth Sound from a cruise.

21 Sep 1802 came into Plymouth Sound the Eagle, Excise cutter, Capt Frazer, from a cruise against smugglers.

28 Sep 1802 came into Plymouth Sound the Eagle, Excise cutter, Captain Ward, with a fine smuggling cutter called the Swift, (formerly the Bonaparte French privateer,) with 500 tubs of brandy, after a long chase within the limits of the Dodman.

23 Nov 1802 arrived Plymouth Sound from a cruise against the smugglers the Eagle cutter, Capt Ward, she was in the fury of the gale of wind at S.S.E. off the Start on Saturday last, and bore away for this port.

2 Dec 1802 arrived Plymouth Sound, from a cruise, seeking protection from a tremendous S.S.E. gale that has been running with very high seas.

6 Jan 1803 departed Plymouth Sound on a cruise.

31 Jan 1803 the Eagle, 14, Capt Ward, arrived Plymouth Sound from a cruise against the smugglers.

25 Feb 1803 arrived Plymouth Sound with the Assistance smuggling vessel, of Cawsand, her prize.

25 Feb 1803 departed Plymouth Sound on a cruise.

10 Mar 1803 departed Plymouth on a cruise against the smugglers.

31 Mar 1803 arrived Plymouth from Falmouth with seamen for the Fleet.

2 Apr 1803 arrived Falmouth from Plymouth for pressed men and volunteers for the navy.

13 Apr 1803 arrived Plymouth the Ranger, Busy, Renown, Hinde, and Eagle, cutters, from a cruise, with impressed men ; the Eagle has gone into quarantine, having taken 2 men out of the Cultivator, recently arrived from Malaga.

29 May 1803 departed Plymouth the Ranger, Capt Frazer, and the Eagle, Capt Adams, on a cruise, and to press seamen.

2 Jun 1803 arrived Plymouth the Eagle from a cruise having detained a French vessel of 400 tons from St Domingo.

6 Jun 1803 departed Plymouth the Eagle and Renown on a cruise.

6 Jun 1803 reports are received at Portsmouth that that the Eagle excise cutter, has sent into Plymouth the Vanders Wynch, laden with cotton, coffee &c., prize to the Eagle.

29 Jun 1803 arrived Plymouth from a cruise off the Isle of Bas.

20 Jul 1803 the sloop Seagull, Capt Burke ; the Speedwell ; Eagle ; and Renown, revenue cutters, departed Plymouth with a large convoy containing, in addition to merchant vessels, 30 French and Dutch prizes for London.

3 Sep 1803 departed Plymouth the Excise cutter Eagle, Capt Adams, with a convoy for ports in Wales.
