Plymouth Nov 1897 departed for China via the Suez Canal.

Weekly Dispatch 11 Feb 1900: The Algerine, Phoenix and Waterwitch, at Hong Kong, are also to be re-commissioned, and the Edgar will be commission at Devonport, on the 20 Feb, to take out the new crews.

18 Jun 1900 The Edgar is to pay off at Devonport.

27 Jun 1900 Devonport. Orders received for a naval mobilization to take place on Tuesday, July 10th - see Colossus for details.

29 Jul 1900 On exercise in the Holyhead area. Mobilisation training.

Aug 1914 Queenstown. Tenth Cruiser Squadron ; Training Squadron

1914 For Disposal, subsequently cancelled for the duration of WWI.
