Apr 1858 Hong Kong, preparing to sail for Australia and New Zealand.

On her arrival on the Australia station she was employed searching in the Bass Straits for HMS Sappho, which disappeared some months previously, but found no trace of her. She was subsequently involved putting down the insurrection in New Zealand, and left a number of men and guns out there when she returned to England.

21 Aug 1860 paid off at Chatham, on return from New Zealand.
