10 Oct 1842 a court martial was held on board the St. Vincent of a seaman, Wm. Wallis, and a boy named Richard Bailey, of the Emerald for a breach of the 2nd Article of War, and the charge being proved the seaman was sentenced to 100 lashes and the boy to 50, both being dismissed with disgrace.
