14-20 May 1798 Involved in expedition to Ostende, supporting the army : armed en fl�te.

1798 Converted to troop ship.

1 Jan 1799 Capt. Sir T. Livingstone, Bart. Store Ship at Portsmouth.

19 Mar 1799 at Spithead.

4 Jul 1799 Portsmouth, is ordered to eastward.

1 Nov 1799 a Court Martial was held on board the Expedition, in Sheerness Harbour, on Friday, to enquire into the cause and circumstances of the loss of the Blanche, and try Captain John Ayscough, his officers and ship's company, for their conduct on that occasion. After examining evidence, the Court was of opinion, that the ship was run on shore through the entire fault of the pilot ; and therefore most honourably acquitted Captain Ayscough, the officers, and crew, of the late Blanche. 25 Apr 1800 departed, the Inflexible, Stately, Wassenaer, Alkmaar, Charon, Expedition, Hebe, Pallas, Romulus, Sensible, Niger, Resource, and Vestal, with troops ; the Commanders of which have sealed orders.

Apr-5 Jun 1800 blockade of Genoa and cutting out of the Prima galley.

8 Jan 1801 departed Spithead with the Experiment for the Cape of Good Hope.

3 Mar 1803 the following vessels remained at Valetta when the Hector departed Malta, for England : the Kent, Superb, Triumph, Donegal, Gibraltar, Agincourt, Charon, Expedition, Experiment, Active, Phoebe, Niger, Victorieuse, and Resistance, the Regulus, and Raven, having departed Malta for Egypt, and the Blonde to Naples, the crew of the Raven having been reported to be sick. The Tourterelle, Pandour, were lying at Alexandria ; and the Braakel, guard ship, at Smyrna ; the Anson having departed Malta for Egypt at the latter end of November.

5 May 1803 the Expedition, Capt Withers, is ordered to take the troops he brought from Malta to Guernsey.

7 May 1803 departed Spithead for Guernsey with troops.

11 May 1803 arrived Spithead from Guernsey.

12 May 1803 departed Spithead for the Eastward, to be paid off.

Circa 31 Oct 1803 150 convicts, from the hulks in Portsmouth and Langton harbours have been sent on board the Coromandel, for Botany Bay.

5 Nov 1803 further to the last item the Hampshire Telegraph also notes that on Thursday a number of female convicts arrived here at Portsmouth and were put on board the Experiment, troop ship, for Botany Bay.

12 Nov 1803 several more female convicts have been sent on board the troop ship Experiment.

30 May 1804 departed Spithead to lie as a guard ship at Yarmouth.
