Jan 1832 was reported to be nearly ready at Woolwich, her "splendid" engines by the Butterly company have been tried in the basin at Woolwich, and they appear to answer remarkably well.....etc.

11 May 1832 arrived Gibraltar from Falmouth and Cadiz, and departed with mail and despatches on the 13th for the Mediterranean.

8 Jul 1832 was off Oporto when the Portuguese Squadron under the command of Don Pedro arrived and landed his troops 3 miles north of the bar and occupied Oporto without opposition. Some of Don Miguel's cavalry was reported to have appeared in the distance, but retired without making contact.

14 Jul 1832 arrived Falmouth with news of the arrival of Don Pedro on the coast of Portugal.

22 Aug 1832 in lat. 36� 52' N., long. 1� 41' E., in the Mediterranean, Cape Tenez SSW, 3 miles.

5 Sep 1832 departed Corfu for Malta.

11 Sep 1832 departed Malta for Gibraltar.

19 Sep 1832 departed Gibraltar for Cadiz (20) and Falmouth.

26 Sep 1832 arrived Falmouth from the Mediterranean.

6 Oct 1832 departed Falmouth, with the African, for Portugal and the Mediterranean.

9 Oct 1832 returned to port, with the African, in view of the severe gales and may not be able to proceed when the weather moderates, so may need to transfer her mail to the Stanmer, or one of the other packets ?

26 Oct 1832 towed the Britannia out of harbour, into Plymouth Sound.

31 Oct 1832 arrived with seamen from and Westward and departed for the Eastward, reputedly for Woolwich.

At sea 14 Jan 1834 In lat. 47.40, long. 7.35 took on board the passengers and crew of the brig Rival, making water, and continued her passage from Lisbon to Falmouth.

22 Feb 1834 Being prepared at Portsmouth for use by a Parliamentary committee looking in to the management etc. of light-houses around the United Kingdom.

9 Apr 1834 departed Portsmouth for Woolwich, to be fitted out.

9 Jul 1834 arrived at Helvoetsluys last Sunday, returning to Woolwich today.

5 Sep 1834 departed Portsmouth for Plymouth.

15 Sep 1834 departed Plymouth for Milford.

18 Apr 1835 has been ordered to bring round Lord Amherst's baggage from London for loading on the Pique at Portsmouth, which is expected to take him to Quebec..

2 May 1835 is ordered round from Portsmouth to Woolwich.

30 Sep 1835 arrived Plymouth on the 28th from Falmouth and Milford, with the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty on a tour of inspection.

8 Feb 1840 Mate F. J. Jamison, appointed from Pantaloon, to the Firebrand.

29 Mar 1840 is ordered to be completely fitted out.

21 Jul 1840 Mr. Samuel B. Cook, master of the Lucifer, at present serving in the Lizard, Captain F. W. Beechey, engaged in a survey of the coast of Ireland, has been appointed master of the Firebrand Admiralty steam yacht, vice Saunders deceased.

10 Aug 1840 left Woolwich for Ostend, to take on board the Prince and Princess Hohenlobe and suite and convey them to Woolwich.

28 Aug 1840 left Woolwich on Tuesday for Southampton, to attend upon the Lords of the Admiralty.

4 Sep 1840 Plymouth, arrived on Tuesday with the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty from Portsmouth.

5 Sep 1840 Portsmouth The Board of Admiralty departed for Plymouth.

18 Sep 1840 arrived Portsmouth from Bristol, and sails tomorrow for Woolwich.

28 Sept 1840 has been examined in the dry dock at Woolwich, and it has been ascertained that the damage she received on the Naas Sands is very trifling. only a few sheets of copper being torn. She was taken out of the dock to-day.

2 Oct 1840 Woolwich, having had her defects made good, is now ready for sea.

3 Oct 1840 left Woolwich with the Lords of the Admiralty on board, for Sheerness. Their Lordships being anxious to investigate the circumstances connected with the late attempt to burn tie Camperdown, have lost no time in proceeding to the spot to receive the evidence that may be laid before them.

9 Oct 1840 returned to Woolwich from Sheerness on Monday with Lord Minto and Vice-Admiral Sir Charles Adam.

26 Oct 1840 The William and Mary towed to Sheerness by the Firebrand for the court martial of Mr. Henty.

2 Nov 1840 William and Mary returned to Woolwich from Sheerness on Sunday, towed by the Firebrand.

27 Nov 1840 has been commissioned at Woolwich, Mr William Saunders, second master, appointed in charge.

5 Jan 1841 Woolwich, her crew was paid their wages yesterday at the pay-office in the dockyard.

25 Aug 1841 left Woolwich for Sheerness and returned in the evening.

14 Oct 1841 left Woolwich yesterday for Portsmouth.

19 Oct 1841 was reported to be at Portsmouth, to take the Lords of the Admiralty to Plymouth, however, the weather being boistrous they travelled overland.

19 Oct 1841 Portsmouth, arrived from Woolwich and returned again on the 21st inst.

16 Jan 1842 due to depart Woolwich join the Formidable, Vindictive and Warspite, who are forming up at the Downs, with a view to departing for Ostend with the steamers Firebrand and Shearwater, to escort the King of Prussia to England.

29 Jan 1842 to be prepared with the Lightning and Shearwater, to take the King of Prussia and suite to Ostend on 4th Feb.

1842 Firebrand renamed Black Eagle, following her being used recently to bring the King of Prussia from Ostend to England : she will continue to be used as an admiralty yacht,
