31 Oct 1798 the former French frigate Espoir captured the French national cutter La Fulminante that was cruising between Tarifa and Tangiers, who had the impudence to attack us. Being well adapted as an advice boat, of which there was a shortage, she was surveyed, estimated, and proceeded to sea the day after she a was taken. St. Vincent. Naval Chronicle p. 32 Vol. 1, 1799.

11 Sep 1800 reported to be on the Lisbon, Gibraltar, and Mediterranean Station, (Lt Wm. Robinson).
