Jan 1846 Grappler, 3, iron steamer, Messrs. Fairburn, taking her engines at Millwall.

30 Mar 1847 detained the slave vessel Taglioni, which was sent for adjudication to the Vice-Admiralty Court at Sierra Leone, and sentenced to be condemned. 18 June 1849 the proceeds arising due for payment.

5 Jun 1847 when in company with the Hound detained the slave vessel Brasiliense, Master initially A. Maria ; followed by L. J. de S. Pinto, owned by Leocadio Jos� de Brito, which was sent for adjudication to the Vice-Admiralty Court at St. Helena, and sentenced to be condemned. 21 May 1849 the proceeds arising due for payment.

26 Jul 1847 detained the slave Polacca brig Nostra Senhora de la Gardia, which was sent for adjudication to the Vice-Admiralty Court at Sierra Leone, and sentenced to be condemned. 29 Sep 1849 the proceeds arising due for payment.

26 Nov 1847 detained a slave brigantine, Name Unknown, supposed Pampa, with 1 slave on board, which was sent for adjudication to the Vice-Admiralty Court at Sierra Leone and sentenced to be condemned. 29 Sep 1849 the proceeds arising due for payment.

8 Dec 1847 detained slaver Aquia, 95 tons, with 747 slaves, which was sent to the Vice-Admiralty Court at Sierra Leone for adjudication and condemned. 26 Nov 1849 the proceeds arising due for payment.

25 Mar 1848 detained slaver Vigilante, 74 tons, which was sent to the Vice-Admiralty Court at St. Helena for adjudication and condemned.

24 Apr 1848 the Grappler and the Dolphin detained the Brazilian slave schooner Secundo Andorinha / Segundo, with 501 slaves on board which was sent for adjudication to the Vice-Admiralty Court at Sierra Leone, and sentenced to be condemned.

11 Jul 1848 detained slaver Sapphira, 172� tons, which was sent to the Vice-Admiralty Court at St. Helena for adjudication and condemned.

15 Jul 1848 detained the slave brigantine Felicidade, which was sent for adjudication to the Vice-Admiralty Court at Sierra Leone and sentenced to be condemned.

22 Jul 1848 the Grappler and the Albatross detained the slave vessel Prendedora, with 608 slaves on board, which was sent for adjudication to the Vice-Admiralty Court at Sierra Leone, and sentenced to be condemned. 18 July 1849 the proceeds arising due for payment.

6 Oct 1848 ordered to cruise between Ambrizette and the Daude, 70 miles off shore, to provision a cruiser and look out for a slaver of whom information has been received.

9 Jan 1850 sealed tenders for the purchase of HM ship under-mentioned, lying at Woolwich Dockyard ; viz: Grappler, 557 tons - per London Gazette of 25 Jan 1850.
