11 May 1808 Bacchante, cruising off Cape Antonio, island of Cuba, chased and captured the French brig-corvette Griffon. The Griffon was afterwards added to the British navy under the same name

27 Mar 1812 off Dieppe, Rosario, and the Griffon capture 3 gun-brigs and drove 2 on-shore out of a flotilla of 12 brigs and a lugger standing alongshore.
