6 Nov 1836 a 10 gun brig altered to Brigantine with a reduced armament, and what weight of bulwarks, top-sides, and top-hamper, is taken off by such alteration is estimated at 6� tons. N. Symonds.

13 Oct 1832 it is understood that the Griffon and Forester are fitting for the African Station.

Per a report made to Parliament in 1842, at some time during 1833 the Gun brig Griffon, 3 guns, Complement: 49, was involved in combatting the Slave Trade.

29 Jan 1833 arrived Falmouth, from Plymouth, for the coast of Africa.

Ascension 30 Sep 1833 reported to be cruising on the West Coast of Africa.

Per a report made to Parliament in 1842, at some time during 1834 was involved in combatting the Slave Trade and experienced 1 Death, and in the absence of other information I assume the causes of death were from disease etc. 1 Jan 1834 on the Cape of Good Hope and Coast of Africa Station.

Ascension 2 Apr 1834 Is reported to be in the Bight of Benin.

Gambia 6 Jun 1834 Reported to be in the Bight of Benin.

Bight of Biafra 12 Oct 1834 Cruising for slave vessels.

31 Oct 1834 detained in lat. 0� 1' S., long. 0� 15' E., the Spanish slave schooner Indagadora, which was sent for adjudication to the British and Spanish Mixed Court of Justice, Sierra Leone, and sentenced to be condemned.

3 Nov 1834 detained in lat. 1� 0' N., long. 2� 40' E., the Spanish slave brigantine Clemente, which was sent for adjudication to the British and Spanish Mixed Court of Justice, Sierra Leone, and sentenced to be condemned.

Sierra Leone 28 Feb 1835 is reported to be in the Gambia, on the West Coast of Africa.

25 Apr 1837 detained the 178 ton Portuguese slave brig Don Francisco, Antonio Pereira Lisboa, master, in an unseaworthy condition and lacking water and provisions, near the Island of Dominica, 11� 49' N., 60� 43' W., en route from Whydah, with a cargo of 439 negroes, some having died en route and possibly since capture, 433 were disembarked on the Island on 27 Apr and the vessel left at Dominica. The vessel was subsequently condemned by the Mixed Court at Sierra Leone on 21 Nov 1837 and an order issued for the emancipation of the surviving slaves.

Jun 1837 detained the slave brig Voltigeur, under Portuguese colours, en route for Havana, and whilst sailing under Portuguese colours, which was subsequently taken into Dominica with slaves on board. In May 1838 the French government wrote to the British Government stating that they were investigating the vessel as it would appear to have been fitted out at Bordeaux.

Jul 1840 arrived at Trinidad on the 9th and departed on a cruise on the 11th.

26 Jun 1841 Portsmouth, arrived from Bermuda, having touched at Barbadoes.

14 Aug 1842 arrived Spithead from Chatham, en route for the West Indies.

23 Aug 1842 departed Spithead for Halifax, NS.

28 Sep 1842 arrived Halifax in 25 days from Spithead.

1 Oct 1842 at Halifax when the Volcano and Resistance departed for England, and would depart for Bermuda mid October with the rest of the squadron on their annual migration south to the West Indies for the Winter months.

14 Oct 1842 departed Halifax for the West Indies, in the Squadron's annual winter migration southward.

17 Oct 1842 arrived Barbadoes.
